Below are the narrative and financial reports about the Orphans Foundation Fund Street Children project funded by CORDAID.
It is now 18months since the Orphans Foundation Fund / CORAID Street children project kicked off. The project has registered great great measurable and sustainable results. To date, nearly 100 former street young adults girls and boys have had their lives transformed into responsible citizens and they will never be the same again. This has not been our efforts but the combined efforts of responsible and compassionate people like you. Our big thanks to CORDAID, Dr. James Lace, and the rest of you for your support of this project.
Here are the project highlights in pictures so that you can see the difference this project has/is been to the lives of the former street children. Download it, it will take you a minute to capture all that has been happening. The other good news is that the former street children who graduated last year have all been absorbed in different workplaces in and around Arusha. We hope you will love the highlights. Thank you so much for being part of
Orphans Foundation Fund.
On Friday the children from all the orphan centers were practicing intensely for the Orphan Games. Some of the challenging sports include; Soccer, Running, Acrobatics, Net Ball and many others. All of the kids were so happy for these mini Olympic type games and the chance to meet so many other children facing similar life challenges. When we are given a goal, a target to hit, a life to live up to, then our spirit rises up to meet the struggle with the might of determination!
In a grand celebration this past Thursday all of the former street children graduated from their vocational training. Can you image the hope in their hearts after leaving life on the streets, drugs, prostitution, and stealing and now having a real future ahead? You haven’t ever seen such smiles on the faces of young men and women as we did on that day. The students in the Orphans Foundation Fund / Chiswea street children project funded by CORDAID studied the vocational trades of Tailoring, Cooking, Automotive Mechanics, Auto body, Electrical installation, and Art. True progressiveness is empowering people with life skills and encouraging them so that they may go out and build lives for themselves.
