We were very happy that the Miss Vodacom Tanzania 2011 comes to visit Orphans Foundation Found. They generously brought sewing materials for the tailoring students who are a part of the street children project. Thank you blessing our students with these supplies and the pleasure of you gracing our meeting with your beautiful presence.

The handover of the Chicken Coop to Rafiki Child Care Center was a joyful and wonderful event. Representatives from the Vodacom Foundation, Orphans Foundation Fund, and the press were there for the handing over the new building to the center. The new cute fuzzy yellow residents also moved into their home and enjoyed their first meal at Rafiki. 🙂
The Orphan Games were spectacular! All the children from over 50 Orphan and Vulnerable children centers around Arusha arrived at the stadium downtown for a great day of fun competition. There were performances, displays, dramas, acrobatics, and even Taekwondo sparring session. Many people came to participate and watch the sports including the Honorable Mizengo P. Pinda Prime Minister of Tanzania and the Mr. Isidori Shirma the Regional Commissioner of Arusha. Thank you, to all those involved, for making this event such a huge success for the kids!
On Friday the children from all the orphan centers were practicing intensely for the Orphan Games. Some of the challenging sports include; Soccer, Running, Acrobatics, Net Ball and many others. All of the kids were so happy for these mini Olympic type games and the chance to meet so many other children facing similar life challenges. When we are given a goal, a target to hit, a life to live up to, then our spirit rises up to meet the struggle with the might of determination!
The staff of Orphans Foundation Fund, Wheels of Action, and Vodacom came together today with the leadership of all the participating orphanages in Arusha. All the children received their special shirts and shoes for the event on Saturday. On Friday the kids will be preparing for the fun Orphan Games of 2009 with excitement. Please come to the Orphan Games in Arusha and show your support to the children and care centers.
